Under the NABARD project, the village of Beloshi had old natural spring sources, which were identified, protected, and restored through systematic efforts.
As part of the conservation work, local villagers actively participated through voluntary work (shramdan), which played a crucial role in successfully completing the project. The process began with careful excavation at the spring sites to access and clean the original water sources.
After excavation, a spring box tank was constructed at each source. Behind the spring box, a natural filtration system was created using layers of black stones and gravel.
Once the water was collected and filtered, it was supplied to the village through a pipeline system. The project used a gravity-based water supply system, meaning water flows naturally from higher elevation springs to lower areas of the village without the need for electricity or pumps. This makes the system sustainable, cost-effective, and environmentally friendly.
Overall, this initiative not only improved access to clean drinking water but also strengthened community participation, promoted sustainable water management, and helped revive traditional natural water sources in the village.
